The liturgy for the 32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year A) speaks to us about “wisdom” according to God.
Wisdom is worthy of praise, and it is something accessible to all who seek it.
The parable of the virgins—both the wise and the foolish—is an invitation to wisdom and prudence, which is to say, to vigilance. The Lord is coming, though we do not know when; this is why we must await Him, prepared and ready to welcome Him, so that we may all become like Him.
Let us pray that the Spirit may enable us to await the Lord’s coming with active, watchful readiness.
