The Shrine of the Archangel Michael is unanimously recognized as a wonderful and unique place in the world.
For centuries the Sacred Grotto has welcomed thousands of pilgrims who, wishing for peace, mercy and forgiveness, experience the encounter with Jesus in the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist, as well as in moments of prayer and adoration, community and personal.
Almost always the main instrument that accompanies all the celebrations is the organ.
As announced in the previous months, the Basilica finally got a new pipe organ.
Created by the famous Zanin company, this fine organ will be inaugurated on Saturday 8 September at 7.30 pm.
The blessing will be given by Mons. Domenico D’Ambrosio, Archbishop emeritus of Lecce.
The inaugural concert * will be followed by Francesco Di Lernia, organ, and Angela Bonfitto, mezzo-soprano, from the “U. Giordano” Conservatory of Music in Foggia.
The event will be broadcast live streaming.
