The liturgy of the XXVII Sunday of Ordinary Time invites us to reflect on the need to respond with gratitude to
gifts that God gives us to do good.
Isaiah, through the image of the vineyard which, although carefully cultivated, produces only wild grapes, indicates the negative attitude of the people of Israel towards divine benevolence.
The parable of the evil servants, also alluding to the Jewish people and their leaders, however also warns us Christians today: life is a gift and must be lived in freedom, but also in responsibility.
We must be vigilant because it is very easy to deviate from the path of goodness and behave differently from how the Lord wants.
Saint Paul’s invitation is to remain in the peace of God.
Let us pray that the Spirit will give us the ability to remain united with Jesus and bear much fruit.
