On the feast day in which the Church celebrates the evangelist Mark and the Italian State commemorates the liberation from Nazifascism, numerous pilgrims have come to the Shrine: families, parish groups, “companies”, coming from local, regional, national and abroad, they gathered in the shadow of the Archangel to celebrate the praises of God and ask for protection and thanks.
Among these, there was also a large team of French priests who, together with their bishop, Mons. Dominique Marie Jean Rey, officiated the Divine Mysteries.
The Pastor of Fréjus-Toulon annually calls the young priests of his Diocese to live with them a retreat-pilgrimage made of prayer, meditation, sharing and fraternity: this year the Gargano and its sacred places have been chosen as the appointed location.

A truly suggestive glance and a very spiritual atmosphere are those deriving from the presence of 70 ministers of God who concelebrate and sing hymns and songs in the austere Grotto of Saint Michael.
